A Fun-Filled Wedding at Le Jardin

Tammy and Kwesi are a very loving, fun and down to earth couple.  All of these traits were very apparent on their wedding day.

We started off at their house in Milton where Tammy was getting ready with her daughter, parents and bridesmaids.

The ceremony was held at the Korean Onnuri United Church in North York.  Here are just a couple of candids:

It was a chilly April afternoon, so we took family portraits at the church and then headed to the Tannery Mall in Newmarket to take photographs of the bride and groom.  Tannery Mall is a great indoor wedding photography location that resembles the outdoors.  The best part about it is that you can buy a permit the day of your wedding so it can always be a great back up plan in case of rain or other undesirable weather.

Behind the mall there is a GO Train station.  We decided to step outside for five minutes and take a few photographs on the train tracks.

The reception was held at Le Jardin in Woodbridge, Ontario. The ambiance was elegant and grand as it always is at Le Jardin.  That, coupled with Tammy and Kwesi’s laid back and fun loving attitudes made for one incredible party!

~Hey Nika and Sane!

We just returned from our honeymoon last night! Aruba was beautiful!

I just want to say thank you so very much! You guys were great! I’m so pleased with the way everything went and I hope you guys also enjoyed yourselves! You guys have such great personalities and are easy to get along with. I can’t wait to see the photos and video.

The Leslieville Project

We took our studio to the streets on a warm Saturday afternoon and decided to take photos of people passing by on Queen Street near Leslie.  We had a wonderful time photographing and interacting with the people of Leslieville.  These are the very first stages of a project that we plan to continue and expand and ultimately exhibit at a local gallery.

An Elegant Wedding at the Eglinton Grand

Laresa and Arbi are a gorgeous, classy and stylish couple who threw an elegant wedding that reflects their tastes and personalities.  

Getting Ready

The bride and groom got ready in different parts of their home and met at the top of the stairs in order to see each other for the first time.

Once ready, we went to Knox College at U. of T. for a photo shoot.   It was fairly cold outside, so Knox College was the perfect location for us as most of the photography can be taken inside the building.

The ceremony and reception were both held at the beautiful Eglinton Grand, an old movie theatre turned into a banquet hall.

The reception was a grand affair, with incredible food, belly dancing performances and beautiful speeches.

Featuring Fay and Ray!

We recently had the opportunity to take some creative portraits of Fay, a bride whose wedding we photographed in March 2008. Since we’ve already shot an engagement shoot and a wedding for her and her husband, Ray, we’ve decided to dedicate this blog entry to them.

We shot Fay and Ray’s engagement photos on Valentine’s Day ‘08.  It was very cold, so we spent most of our time indoors at York University which is where the two of them first met.

Their wedding took place in March, during the largest snow storm of that year!  We had a great time and compensated for it by shooting at the Air Canada Centre (Fay and Ray are huge fans of the Raptors), BCE Place and Union Station.  We were also able to shoot their family portraits at Le Jardin, the beautiful banquet hall at which the reception was held.

A few weeks ago, Fay sent me an email in regards to her wedding photography:

Nika,

I finally printed the wedding pictures for our own album and I am absolutely in love with them. I had printed pics in the past for our parents, etc. so I had seen them in hard copy form but it was a lot of the family-staged pics, so I am finally getting to see a lot of the candids etc and I am LOOOVINGGG Them! I just picked them up and I want to go home right now and put them in the album!!! Im such a nerd!!

But yeah, thought I would share that with you!!
